A new face of Pliva's public health campaign

Pliva, the leading pharmaceutical company in Croatia and the region, in cooperation with Miss7 internet portal, has launched an educational campaign as a part of the global Movember movement, with the aim of contributing to raising the awareness of public, and especially men, about prostate diseases and the importance of regular check-ups.

Matej Knežević, specialist urologist, said: “Prostate cancer is the third most frequent malignant tumour among men in Croatia, with its incidence increasing after 50 years of age. Today there are no reliable measures for preventing prostate cancer, but we can diagnose it early, treat it, and prevent it from spreading outside the prostate, thus trying to cure the disease”.

Mihael Furjan, President of the Board of Pliva, said: “Movember has become a tradition in Pliva, and for the third year in a row we are organising an internal campaign and are joining one of the most popular global movements. We are providing citizens with information about prostate diseases, and the activities necessary for early diagnosis and treatment. When it comes to health, continual education is extremely important, becaue early diagnosis can be a life-saver.”
