An Opportunity for Young People in Croatia – A Step to a Successful Career
Become PLIVA's scholarship holder and make a career in an international environment
Zagreb, 4 April 2014 - PLIVA invited applications for its 2014 Scholarship Programme. Applications can be submitted by full-time students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Science (Department of Chemistry) and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (Department of Automation) from 4 April to 5 May 2014.
PLIVA has a long tradition of scholarships and makes considerable investments in both student scholarships and life-long learning of its employees. Much attention is dedicated to creating opportunities and increasing competitiveness of future professionals, who are given an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills already during their high-school and university education. For most of them, this is one of the first opportunities to put acquired theoretical knowledge into practice and also an opportunity to define their professional interests and ambitions. On the other hand, this is also an opportunity for PLIVA to learn more about young professionals and to attract top talents.
More than 150 students and pupils annually do their work experience at PLIVA, and a considerable number of students are provided support in writing seminar papers and bachelor’s thesis. For them, this is an opportunity to learn something new by using the state-of-the-art equipment, methods and literature. Depending on their interests and needs, they can choose where they would like to do their work experience or choose the topic of their seminar papers or bachelor’s thesis, all under the supervision of their PLIVA mentors.
On the occasion of this invitation for scholarship applications, Blagica Petrovac Šikić, Senior Director of Human Resources at PLIVA CROATIA, said: "Many scholarship holders continue to develop their career at PLIVA, and many of them today occupy respectable positions with professional and managerial responsibilities. PLIVA’s scholarship holders always emphasise how the richness of knowledge and experience of their colleagues encourage them to learn and develop professionally. The idea behind our scholarship programs is to encourage professional growth and career development in pharmaceuticals and thus enable young people to participate in the development of high quality products and contribute to the quality of life and healthcare."
